Eve of Adventuring

About four years ago we half-jokingly discussed traveling for 6 months across Europe and Asia, taking the trans-siberian railroad from Europe to China and beyond.  Since then, we have been fortunate enough to travel to 40 different countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa while living in London and Singapore.  Now, before returning (permanently?) to the good ol' USA, we've decided to take that big trip we originally talked about, albeit a pared down version (without the 7 day train through Siberia or Kazakstan unfortunately).

Over the next three months we will be traveling around Asia posting as regularly as possible about our adventures.  We haven't been as diligent with our postings lately so hopefully this will make up for it.  The trip has a few set objectives but for the most part we will be going with the flow until February 28th.  A rough itinerary is as follows, but we'll bit deviating from this a bit to see off the beaten path  sites we hear about along the way.

Dec 4th-Dec 12: Cebu-Bohol in the Philippines
Dec 12th-Dec 17th: Back in Singapore for Jessica's MBA graduation!
Dec 17th-Dec 24th: Myanmar (Yangon-Bagan-Mandalay)
Dec 24-Dec 26th: Bangkok
Dec 26-TBD: Cambodia (to visit Matt's brother in the Peace Corps)
TBD-TBD: Laos (Vientiane-Luang Prabang-Nong Khiaw-Luang Namtha-etc.)

Following our time in Southeast Asia we'll be crossing the Laos/China border in mid-January into Southern Yunnan province in Xishuangbanna.  The exact itinerary is very up in the air depending on what we feel like doing, and more importantly the weather.  The only set location is to be in Beijing for our Return flight on February 28th.  However, below is a rough itinerary of places we want to see:

Yuangyang Rice terraces, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Shangrila, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Litang, Kangding, Chengdu, Shanghai, Xinji, Beijing.

Here is a link to the rough itinerary on a map: LINK (or picture here)

Hopefully there will be another posting soon!
