For those of you who have not heard of this meat Frankenstein...TurDucKen is a chicken stuffed inside a duck that is stuffed inside a turkey! The name is a combination of the three and it's the newest gluttonous centerpiece to American families for the holiday.
For Christmas this year, my family got a Turducken from Wholefoods. You can order a head and Wholefoods will do all the heavy lifting like deboning the poultry and stuffing it with your choice of stuffing. We decided to go with Cashew and Herbs.
So the big question is if it's worth the hype. I definitely think this is a must try on a holiday. I'm not sure if it was my lack of cutting skills but it was difficult to get the poultry to perfectly layer so that you are getting equal amounts of each bird in each bite. I wasn't sure if Wholefoods marinated the meats at all before putting the Turducken together but the three meats cooked in one made the bird very moist. The cashew and herb was DELICIOUS.
Next year, we'll try ordering a cajun turducken and I'm also going to be on the hunt for a FRIED Turducken if I can find it
